ActiveKid is the name of a long line of fun, exciting, different, active, creative and cosy arrangements for children of all ages.
Active Kid is your chance for a quick survey of all the activitites for children at the Oddercoast Come by for lots of adventure and maybe meet new playmates on your holiday. The activities run in the period from June 20th to August 28th 2011
How to participate?
If nothing else is stated in the description simply show up at the location. Any payment are done by the beginning of the activity Download the Active Kid programme (in Danish) with maps and a schedule of alle the activities.

Midsummer Eve bonfire
The longest day of the year is celebrated at the beach of Hølken with the biggest bonfire of East Jutland.
Join us round the fire and enjoy the thrills of vintage motocycles and parachuters. During the evening the Odder Gymnasts give a show as well.
The grocer and the fast food grill at Odder Strand Camping is open and it is also possible to purchase coffee and cake.

Tour of the trainyard
Last chance for a tour of the trainyard and engine-shed of the local railwaystation before it is taken over by the governmental lines. Beside a tour of the engine-shed, there will be the chance to see the trains from underneath with engines and wheels exposed as well as a photo opportunity in the drivers seat. Stonepainting and lanterns
All during summer the childrens library is busy with activities. Collect beautiful stones at the beach and bring them to the library. We have lots of tools for decoration the stones. The summer can also be accentuated by the sweet lanterns, made from used glasses with silkpaper and napkins. If possible bring your own stones and jam glasses. Islandic horses
Come by for a different approach to nature. The children are allowed to bring out the horses themselves, groom them and saddle them. after that we go for a ride in the beautiful surrounding nature accompanied by a adult on foot. Rappeling in the old mill
Get a feel of the the authentic old mill as you are wired down from 8 meters above. Historical kayaking – Horsen Fjord The coast of Horsens Fjord has been inhabited for the last 8.000 years – we go exploring in seakayaks in the beautiful scenery of Amstrud Red. Depending on wind and weather we might pass by the old womens prison, settlements from the Stone Age, the old fishing area of Sondrup or Strevelshoved with a view of the bird sanctuary at Vorsø. All are welcome but a reasonably good health is acquired.There will be a thorough introduction to kayaking. – Hou shoal and Hølken Beach
A lovely sail going close by Hou Shoal, the local island that appeared from the ocean in the 1930´s. From here we go north to the old Customs House at Hølken Beach. We will also pass the Seahouses, a rare environment telling the story of the pioneers of beachlife at the Oddercoast. The trip is suitable for chuldren accomapanied by adults.
