Norsminde

Norsminde
- A small town with a long history…

Life in Norsminde can be traced as far back as 6600 B.C., and there are also traces of the Vikings living here.

The old inn of Norsminde has a history that dates back to 1693. Today the ’Norsminde Kro’ inn – with charismatic chef and innkeeper Søren Pedersen at the helm – is one of Denmark’s high seats of gastronomy. The produce for the Brasserie and the Slow Food restaurant is mainly of local origin. Vegetables from the Organic Garden in Odder and other suppliers, meat from the local village of Solbjerg, fish from the fjord, berries from their own fields, and so on.

The Norsminde area is perfect for a long walk. It takes about an hour to walk from Norsminde harbour to the foreland and back through the holiday cottage area. A longer walk, lasting about 3 hours, is from the harbour and along the southern side of the Norsminde inlet to the old pumping station and back.
