About 11.30-11.45
The famous Giro-caravan will come through town.

From 12.00 and onwards:
Mek Pek will entertain with his solo show and the parking lot near the town hall

Odder Garden and Odder Music School will entertain on the parking lots near the town hall, Kvickly and the train station.

Café Pakhuset will serve food and drink on the square in from of the train station

Odder Cycling Club will serve food and drink on Kvickly’s parking lot

Madhimlens Madhus will serve pink food and drink in a pink tent on the parking lot near the town hall.

Parking
You have lots of opportunities to park in Odder. Se them here

When will the route be closed for traffic?
Depending on wind and weather the riders will pass through Odder between 13.10 and 13.50. The route will be closed for traffic from about one hour before the peleton arrives until about half an hour after the last rider has passed by.

In some spots it is possible to cross the route in a car through so-called locks until about 15 minutes before the riders will pass by

GiroStart 2012


GiroStart 2012 is the name for all events that will take place in connection with the Giro d’Italia coming to Denmark. Among others, it was the former Danish rider Alex Petersen and Herning Municipality who have ensure the race for Denmark.

A pink race
Giro d’Italia is the world’s toughest race, and was originally started as part of a rivalry between two Italian newspapers. The newspaper behind the race, La Gazetta dello Sport was then as well as now printed on pink paper, the colour of the race is therefore pink as is the leader’s jersey.

Racing is not just cyckling
A big race as Giro d’Italia is not just about cycling, but also about partying. In the case of the Giro, the party has a name, Giro-mania. The term covers a pink universe and a civic festival, which entails a contagious and enthusiastic atmosphere around the race.

The family Giro

Odder Cycling Club will arrange a festive amateur cycling race for the whole family. There are 3 routes one on 13 km, one on 25 km and a more challenging route on 90 km, which among other places will cross over Ejer Bavnehøj, one of the highest points in Denmark.
